Thanksgiving this year is especially special.
We got my mom to cook the ultimate Taiwanese sesame oil rice wine chicken soup for us. We also had the opportunity to not only watch how she made the soup, we were able to improvise, to record the process in photos and videos at all steps.

Mind you, I have tried to cook this dish for years and it has never tasted as good as hers.

Ingredients
A whole chicken
1 fresh ginger
1 cup of roasted black sesame oil
3 cups of Rice wine
A bowl of hot water
Salt

Tips & Tricks
Heat sesame oil in a skillet with medium high heat.
When the skillet gets hot, put in the crushed ginger pieces.
When the ginger pieces have a nice brown color, add the cut chicken pieces.
Turn and brown the chicken pieces.
Pour in rice wine when chicken skin has a nice brown color.
When the pot is boiling, add boiling water.
Turn the heat to low and let the pot simmer for about 20-30 minutes and it ready to serve.
